DKToday doesn't work for me either.

Hey Frank! You were too quick for me, I hadn’t found the plug-in I was talking about yet. DKToday looks cool, but it doesn’t seem to work on my JasJar! But I do notice that you have Office Communicator on your PDA, where is the download URL?

Mitch, perhaps it only works in GPRS mode and not the 3G mode?

I'm just guessing here, because that's one feature that the other phones don't have, but your JasJar does have. So perhaps what gets broadcast by the cellphone towers in a 3G network is different to a 2G network.

My understanding is that the 3G network does not use cell broadcast because the way that the phone connects is often across multiple cell towers, where as GSM is only 1 cell tower. When roaming on a GSM network you will see the cell name.

On my previous 3G phone it would display the Cell ID when roaming. My JasJar doesn't display the Cell ID even when roaming so I assume it's something not enabled. If you go into the Phone settings and enable Cell Broadcast and subscribe to channel 50 you can receive the information as a message (it comes in like a text message but nothing gest stored), but that way at least you know the carrier is sending the information.
