PhoneCellBroadcast

1 04 2006

Lately I’ve been looking at a specific technical problem that I’ve been having with my i-mate JasJar and the managed APIs on the Windows Mobile 5.0 platform. What I am trying to do is use the notification broker API to be notified when I switch between coverage areas on the cell phone. I couldn’t get it to work so I enlisted the help of Nick Randolph who through his connections was able to get something up and running on his i-mate K-JAM (Nick’s blog has the details to try it out on your device).

As Nick explains I wasn’t able to get it up and running on my JasJar which is really frustraiting because I wanted to use it in an application. I’ve actually raised a support call with Microsoft to have the issue tracked down, but I am worried that I am going to get some push back about it being something wrong with the way that i-mate has interfaced the radio stack with the device.

Anyway – I’d like to think Nick, Paul and John for looking at the issue, much appreciated.

Hi Erik,

In the end it looks like a specific problem on the JasJar and in the stuff that i-mate/HTC is responsible for.
