Dave Glover has posted a link to the Master of Enterprise Architecture page at RMIT. Its an interesting idea – the thought that in a one and a half year (full time, three part time) course you can give students the information that they need to become an enterprise architect.

To be honest I am a little bit sceptical about these kinds of course offerings from universities, however, if they stick to their entry requirements then they do stand a chance of turning out reasonabily well exposed IT professionals.

The problem with any curriculum development is of course keeping it current, and over the next two years our industry is set for a bit of a shake-up that may invalidate long established architectural principals – if the lecturers aren’t out there in the industry getting their hands dirty they may not be able to pass on critical information.

Based on the available information the course will cost approximately $19,000.00 without factoring in other expenses associated with study. I suspect that for this type of course many students will be sponsored by their company.
